Rosa Parks Essay Contest

You’re Invited! All Lucas County junior high and high school students, you are invited to honor Rosa Parks and to be honored yourself!

The Details: Please research Rosa Parks (through the internet, books, teachers, friends, etc.). Then, write an essay or piece of creative writing, like a poem, song, or short story, reflecting from your own personal point of view, how Rosa Parks’ legacy has made a difference in your life today. Your writing should recognize the values of Rosa Parks and how her one single act changed history in America.

The five (5) winners of this contest will be awarded school supplies (such as laptops, books, etc.) to assist them in their education.

Submission & Deadline: Please submit your written entry to the City of Toledo’s Board of Community Relations’ office (419-245-1565) at One Government Center, Suite 2200 Toledo, Ohio 43604 by October 15th. Winners will be notified by mid-November.
