Ritter Planetarium: Holiday Lights

November 23-30, December 7-21, 2007
Fridays @ 7:30 pm
"With each passing night, the Sun is setting earlier and earlier; our nights are getting longer, and our days colder. Soon the holiday season will be with us. On these clear, dark nights we see the same stars our ancestors saw when their solstice celebrations established many of our modern holiday customs. This pre-recorded program traces the origins of our calendar and our holiday celebrations, and examines how they are both related to the flickering points of light we call the stars. "
